Cascais es un pequeño pueblo de playa en Portugal junto a la costa de Estoril en el área metropolitana de Lisboa. Cascais, antigua residencia de la familia real y pionero del turismo en Portugal, es un pueblo con mucho encanto. Dominado por la bahía y la imponente fortaleza, el centro histórico está lleno de tesoros arquitectónicos de carácter religioso, militar y civil. Del mismo modo, los museos del Mar, Casa das Histórias de Paula Rego, y el Museo Municipal Condes de Castro Guimarães también hay que ver las atracciones. Cascais está rodeada de playas populares, como la playa de Guincho, al oeste, y las exuberantes montañas de Sintra del norte. Parte de su línea de costa es acantilado y atrae a los turistas por sus paisajes marinos y otros lugares de interés natural como la Boca do Inferno. También se está convirtiendo en un destino de golf popular, con más de 10 campos de golf cercanos. Surf, vela, windsurf, kitesurf y son también populares en la región de alrededor de Cascais debido al clima favorable, el viento y las condiciones del mar. En 2007, Cascais fue el anfitrión oficial del Campeonato del Mundo de la ISAF en la navegación de botes y yates de carreras.
